"The stories we tell matter. The way we tell them matters. Who gets to tell those stories matters even more."

Women in Film Vancouver (WIF Vancouver) was re-established by a collective of trailblazing female filmmakers who have shattered glass ceilings and continue to redefine boundaries in the global and Canadian film and television industry. With experience spanning the globe, we’ve chosen Vancouver as our creative home, inspired by its vibrant film community and breathtaking landscapes. With many being proud members of Women in Film Los Angeles and other international organizations, we re-established WIF Vancouver to create a dynamic space for British Columbian women across all areas of the industry.

Our mission is to break barriers, amplify bold female stories long overlooked, and create a thriving, inclusive environment where emerging and established women filmmakers unite within a strong, empowering sisterhood. WIF Vancouver unapologetically celebrates the artistry, innovation, and resilience of women who are shaping the future of storytelling, one groundbreaking project at a time.
