Lucia Walters is an award-winning Canadian actress whose career has spanned more than two decades across film, television, and streaming platforms. Born to an Antiguan father and Dutch mother and raised in British Columbia, Lucia is recognized for her versatility, authenticity, and enduring presence on screen.
Audiences around the world know Lucia from acclaimed productions including Virgin River, Goosebumps, Reginald the Vampire, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Life Unexpected, and numerous feature films and television movies. Throughout her career, she has portrayed a wide range of memorable characters while earning a reputation as a trusted and respected performer within the Canadian entertainment industry.
Before pursuing acting full-time, Lucia worked as a registered nurse after completing a degree in health sciences with a focus on women's health. Her unique journey from healthcare to the screen has shaped a career grounded in empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of the power of storytelling to create connection and inspire change. More recently, Lucia has expanded her creative work as a writer and producer, seeking to amplify the voices of marginalized women and bring often-overlooked stories to the forefront.
A passionate advocate for women and girls, Lucia has built a longstanding legacy of philanthropic support for organizations dedicated to empowering women, protecting vulnerable children, and strengthening communities, including Ally Global, Ratanak International, and Mom2Mom Child Poverty Initiative. Her commitment to service and social impact reflects a lifelong dedication to creating opportunities, fostering empowerment, and supporting meaningful change both locally and globally.
Away from the camera, Lucia is a proud wife and mother of two daughters. Her personal and professional experiences have reinforced her belief in the importance of representation,
mentorship, and creating meaningful pathways for women to lead and thrive across all sectors. Lucia is proud to serve as an Advisory Board Member of Women in Film Vancouver and is committed to advancing the organization's mission of championing female-forward storytelling, supporting women across all areas of the screen industry, and fostering the next generation of creative leaders throughout British Columbia and beyond.
